Love…What I have Learned About It In My Life

“Love isn’t always beautiful, but when it is found, there will be tests and trials.”

Shaunelius L. Sterns

When I was young, I thought that love was supposed to be like it was in the movies. I thought it was something that would last forever. I thought that love couldn’t hurt. I thought love always made people smile. Things are not always what they seem to be. Love can be deceptive. I became older and understood life, and I began to see love as I thought it could be.

I’ve had my ups and downs with love. Heartache, heartbreak, and headaches. When it comes to love, who really knows what to expect? How can anyone know if what they are feeling is true or false? It could be lust or infatuation between two people. That’s where the deception shows up.

Deception of the heart hurts more than anything when you are in love with someone. You expect everything to be perfect, but it isn’t. Love comes, love goes, and love hurts. It rips out your soul, and sometimes you never recover from it. You give up on love and never believe in love again.

Love isn’t always beautiful like we think it should be but when you find that perfect love, hold on to it and never let it go. There will be tests and trials. When you’re tested, you have to be strong. You cannot throw it away just because the testing hurts.

Learning about love and the lessons it carries will take a lifetime.
