The Bridges We Will Cross

We all have things going on in life where we have to make decisions that we never thought we would have to make. When those things happen what do we do? Do we ignore that bridge, or do we cross over it and tackle it? We should face it is what I believe. Crossing bridges takes us to the other side. They take us to the other side to show us that there are better places than where we are, and what we are facing. Crossing bridges can be rewarding, but sometimes the problems we face cross those bridges with us; we can not get away from them no matter how hard we try. Sometimes that bridge can be in your own home, it’s something or someone you are trying to get away from, but it keeps following you. It never leaves you alone. It constantly reminds you of what you did or should have done differently.

We all have our bridges to cross at some point. We all have things that we have to face in life. Some burn bridges that can never be rebuilt. Even when time passes, those bridges are still burned down. Sometimes bridges are not meant to be rebuilt, they have served their purpose in your life. Build new bridges. Build them strong, you may never know when you have to use that bridge to cross over to the other side to see something new that could be waiting for you to explore.

Bridges can be things that you have been waiting to overcome. Bridges don’t only represent problems and tragedies that we often face. We can look at bridges as milestones we have accomplished in our lives. We can look at bridges as a new beginning to embark upon. We can look at bridges and realize that it takes hard work, dedication, and perseverance to withstand anything that’s thrown at you. Bridges withstand lots of storms, and so do we, but as they make it through those storms so do we. What is the bridge that you are facing and are afraid to cross? I want to tell you this; face it with full force. You will make it to the other side. You will be alright.

Bridge over the water

Floating While Standing Still

I am so long and strong with the water beneath me, and the concrete below me that’s holding me up with steel and wires tethered to the floor of the sea in which I am living, and have lived for many years. I have seen many storms. I have endured many crashing waves, but yet and still, I am floating while standing still.

O, many Seasons I have survived. I just listen to the movement of the water beneath me. Legs I have but I cannot walk. Some travel upon me to get to their destinations. Yes, I have eyes but I cannot move them, they look straightforward out into the vast sea that I live in. Water creatures swim around me, but I cannot speak to them.

How happy I would be if I could move to a different spot. How pleasantly gracious I would feel. It would be a beautiful thing to have a companion across from me, or beside me. Rain falls from the beautiful sky that covers me night and day. The stars twinkle so brightly. When the wind blows over the sea, it is cold to me, how I wish I had a big long jacket to cover me. Sometimes when storms come, the thunder shakes me to my core, but the lightning sends electricity all across the sky. Have I been stricken by it? No. Would I like to run from it? Yes, if I could, but where would I go? So, nevertheless, I will always remain to be as I am, a bridge, floating while standing still.
