Story Art: The Journey of a Sailor

HELLO Sailor!

Hello Sailor! How did you do? Did you catch any fish, or did they swim away from you? Was your journey long? Did you miss being home?

How were the nights? How were the days? Was the sun hot giving off her rays? Did you enjoy the scenery, or were you afraid? Was home you wished you should have stayed?

We’re the mountains high? We’re the valleys low? Was it still, or did the wind blow? Was this journey your final one, or will there be few? Take your time whatever you do.

Were there trees in the distance surrounded by land? Was there anyone there to give you a helping hand? We’re there flowers beautiful and bright? Did you wonder if everything would be alright? Did you think about those you left behind? Did you keep up with, or ignore the time?

Did you Sing a melody along the watery road, or were you just silent as the boat slowly rowed? Did you find yourself in a place unknown where the moon touched the water and the stars looked on?

Did you really go on a journey, or was it just a dream? Was it just a story made up that you decided to share with me? Did you laugh at your own thoughts? Did you cry from loneliness? Did you shout? Was there anyone to hear?

Did you do anything at all? Did you ask the fish to swim to where you were? Did you sing them a song that touched their ears? Did they dance on the water with synchronized care, or did they swim away without a thought or care?

Land, oh, land was quiet as could be, but all in all he enjoyed his journey.ABOUT THIS POEM: By Shaunelius Sterns

This poem is about someone who felt lost and had to leave to find themselves. Sometimes life will take you on a journey that you don’t understand that you’re on. During those journeys, you tend to think about how you became lost. On that journey, you may find the answers your looking for, but sometimes you don’t. You just have to accept that your life is what it is. It doesn’t matter how many journeys life may take a person on, it is finding out who you are on the inside and letting it shine through on the outside. Accept yourself for who you are and your journeys through life will be pleasant. Change what you can about yourself if you choose to, but be happy with that change.

The Rising of the Sun

Night once was which covered the sky as the stars twinkled their light in the far distance in the sky almost unseen. The coolness of the atmosphere sends night chills through out the silent night until it’s time for the new day to awaken afresh. Night sounds make their cries to be heard adding fear for their enemies to be afraid. Silent once again as the mountains looks on from their resting places while the smallest critters silently sleep beneath them.

The trees stand still not moving their limbs to sway like they do, but the grassy meadow lays silently still waiting for the rising of the sun. What beauty to behold as the sun breaks through the night over the mountains, the trees, and the grassy meadow. A new day awakens that’s never been seen before to greet the earth with her presence.

How beautiful is the rising of the sun? How glorious is it to be seen? How beautiful is the sky that beholds it? How majestic are the mountains under it? The trees wave their limbs giving thanks for the new day. The grassy meadow is greener than before. The birds sing sweet melodies to the new day, and they are all thankful, and even grateful for the rising of the sun.

Mountains, Sea, and Sky

Eloquent as they are, the mountains sit in the sea under a vast sky that has no end in sight welcomes the changes of the seasons. The sea is silent without rushing waves, and the clouds are giving mixed messages. The sky is silent just resting over the sea watching over everything from a distance.

The snow on the mountains graces the peaks that no one has touched with human feet, but touched by the dew from the night sky. Sea creatures swim and enjoy the water without a care in the world, but the feet of the mountains rest beneath the surface of the water to be untouched by human hands.
