The wind blows softly as the sun shines bright in the sky. The squirrels play around enjoying the day.

Leaves fall to the ground floating in the breeze as the trees get ready to take a long nap until Spring.

The grass is still green and some of the leaves are to, but all in all they are just hanging around a little while longer.

The smell of Fall is in the air as things began to change, after a while things will be different again.

The clouds are white and pretty, they move so slowly in the sky as the earth spins fast in the universe as gravity holds us down.

What a wonderful season Fall is? It is the season to walk in the evenings as the sunset approaches to close the day.

It is the season we just sit and loll all day.

It is the season for new romance. It is the season for those in love to go out and dance.

It is the season when new memories are made. It is the season for critters to hibernate. As the days come and go we think about the snow and how it will cover the ground.  We think about the coming season and what it will bring, so we appreciate the Fall when we burst out and sing.

Fall in the afternoon makes the eyelids heavy as the sandman creeps in, drifting off into dreamland where things are nice and free, only to awake to your own reality.

Fall in the afternoon somber and serene, sends my mind on a vision quest to places I’ve never seen. Daydreaming of days past and the fun that was once had makes my heart happy, but then sad.

Thinking of better days and hoping there will be, I wish my children were here to spend this Fall afternoon with me. ©2021
