Summer and Autumn

Summer and Autumn had a conversation about who was leaving, and who was staying. Summer told Autumn that She was not going anywhere anytime soon, but Autumn said ”Not So!” They both love to hang around to see how people are going to react to the situation of them both being around.

Summer asked Autumn to give her an extra month, but Autumn told Summer that it had never been like that and she was not going to change things. She told Summer that she was just going to have to suck it up because tradition is tradition. Summer did not like that too much, she burned even hotter with fury and anger. She wanted to stay a month longer than she usually does. Autumn was not having it, so she told Summer to go away when it was her time to leave and not to return until next year at her regular month and time. Summer began to ask why she had to leave so soon. Autumn told her that her time was up. Autumn was not trying to be mean to Summer, she was just making a point. Summer knew better than to ask Autumn if it was alright to stay longer, but she had to try.

Autumn hated to see Summer leave because they were friends. It was hard for them to say bye to one another, but they had no other choice. It was time for Autumn to shine. It was time for her to change the atmosphere. It was time to bring the romance to the forefront. It was time for her to help young lovers fall in love. Although she knew she was only going to be visiting for a short while she knew she had a lot of work to do. Yes, she had to get ready to welcome Fall. She had to change the colors of the leaves on the trees to brighten the world with the colors of Autumn.

She had to set the mood for the sunsets. She had to bring in that Autumn breeze that flowed through the trees as the wind carried the fragrance on by. She had to watch the critters gather food for the Winter season. Autumn left and Fall came on in when it was all said and done. ©2021
