IN A FIELD OF FLOWERS
Walking outside, I see flowers all around me. I see sweet smelling beauty around me. When I was growing up, my yard was filled with flowers and fruit trees. I never had to wonder where I was going to get a flower when I wanted one. I never had to worry about a specific piece of fruit I wanted. Walking in my yard was like walking in a field of flowers. Outside on the hill, sunflowers grew, daisies, yellow and white daffodils, clover flowers, and berry vines grew. That was the best time of the Summer for me.
When I see pictures of fields of flowers, it takes me back to my childhood. I look at the pictures and imagine myself being in that field of flowers running and having fun. I imagine myself picking them to make a bouquet for my table, or to give them to my husband. I have always loved flowers of every kind. Some flowers grow wild and free, they come back even after the Winter has frozen the ground. I look forward to seeing them every year. The smell of wild flowers has a smell of their own; it is not like any other smell of a regular flower bought in the store. Wild flowers will always grow. They will be around forevermore. ©2021
