Thinking back to when I was a child would make me cry, but now I smile. Thinking back to when life was fun and carefree without a worry in the world, no bills to pay, no respnsibilities…that was the good life.
Thinking back to the times when I would run and play outside, those were the times when I learned so much about nature and how to appreciate what God created.
Thinking back to those days of my life, I remember spending time with my grandmother visiting the elders that she knew. I learned so much from them just listening to their stories.
Thinking back to those memories that were made in my childhood makes me wish I could turn back the hands of time and relive those days all over again.
I remember when when all of us children would go fishing on the creek with our fishingpoles we made. I remember how we would dig our own bait to fish with.
Eventhough we didn’t catch anything, I enjoyed it so much. Just being in nature enjoying the sounds around me was splendid.
I guess that is why I still love going on nature walks, spending time in my quiet spot outside, listening to the birds walking around in the grass…what more can a person ask for?
I know I cannot relive my childhood, but I can make new memories to share with my children.
Thinking back to those years past makes my heart happy.
