Her thoughts takes her back to a time when her heart was happy and she knew no pain. Her thoughts takes her back to a time when she fell in love and she knew it would last forever. Now her heart is heavy and her eyes are filled with tears that she cannot control when she is alone, but she fights them back on her own.

She tries to smile through it all, but her thoughts will not let her. Her mind races to the point that there is no rest for her eyes. Past memories flood to the forefront of her mind of the mistakes she made in the past, her thoughts tells her that she is guilty for the things that were done, although she has been forgiven; the past held over her head as if she is still living her old life. Feel nothing in her heart…numb and cold as ice.

She looks at herself in the mirror and her heart grows heavy from fear that grips her like a chain. Her mind telling her that it will always be this way, that she will never be happy. Her mind telling her that she is going to lose everything because of what she had to go through that wasn’t her fault.

Often she try to put it in the back of her mind to turn off the noise that it brings her. She pray for better days to come, she holds on to the One she knows who holds her, but yet and still her eyes fill with tears that steams down her face, that choaks her up to the point of holding her breath to breathe.

For what it is worth she will hold on to what joy she has in the One who created her, even when her heart is heavy and her eyes are filled with tears. ©2021
