Once upon a time in my life I prayed to see each day. I was afraid that I was going to be taken away. Many tears I cried from my heart, knowing any day I could depart.

10/12/2019, I turned 45. I don’t feel any different as the day before I did, my age is not something that I keep hid. I look forward to it each year, because it is a blessing that I am still here.

I was in the grips of death, but I knew that it was up to me if I wanted to fight for my life. I knew it was up to me not to give up on my life no matter how much I hurt, no matter how I stayed awake hoping to stay alive. Through it all death did not win!!! Through it all God was with me. There were times when I did not feel His presence; fear gripped me. There were times when He was silent and I couldn’t hear His voice. There were times when I just didn’t know what to do. One day just out of the clear blue sky, He spoke to me. That was the most exciting time in my life . He told me that ,”You are my daughter, I Am Your Father, and I Love You”. I knew right then that everything was going to be just fine, and it was. There was a time one Sunday Morning I was about to oversleep, He called me by my name and woke me up to go to church. I jumped up and took care of my business and left, I was a little late for Bible Study, but I made it; that was all that mattered, I made it. I have made it through everything that I have gone through because God went through it with me; I was never alone.

This is why I enjoy seeing my birthday come each year, because I know it is because of God that I am still here. No longer do I take life for granted. I live one day at a time praying that God will bless me to see another. I am very thankful that He loves me the way He does, because if He didn’t love me, I would surely die, I mean I would just drop dead. God’s love that He has for me is very important to me because He is the only Father I have, I have no other. I hope that I can always make Him smile. I only want Him to be proud of me. There are many more birthdays to come, and I hope I live very long to see each one.
