Introduce Yourself (Example Post)

The journey in poetry begins. My name is Shaunelius, and I am a poet. I hope others like poetry too. Some of my poetry turns out to be stories. I have a very vivid imagination when it comes to putting words together. Let me know what you think. Toodles💯

You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.

Why do this?

  • Because it gives new readers context. What are you about? Why should they read your blog?
  • Because it will help you focus you own ideas about your blog and what you’d like to do with it.

The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.

To help you get started, here are a few questions:

  • Why are you blogging publicly, rather than keeping a personal journal?
  • What topics do you think you’ll write about?
  • Who would you love to connect with via your blog?
  • If you blog successfully throughout the next year, what would you hope to have accomplished?

You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.

Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.

When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.

I am Shaunelius Sterns, I am new to WordPress. I have four blogs now. I have been writing for as long as I can remember. I am a Christian, have been for many years now. Been married for eighteen years, and will be 19 years this December, to my wonderful husband who I love and adore. Stay tuned for my exciting poetry that will take your mind to places that it has never been.

I am still here writing my words on a page to share with the world. This year for me has had its strengths and weaknesses. Yet and still I am still here writing what I feel inside. Pouring out words that touch the soul of others who’ve gone through and felt the same things in different places. I will keep on writing. I will keep on being inspirational, and uplifting people through my spoken words.💯 ©2019

Just being my beautiful self🌹❤️🌹💯

Looking Back

As I look back over all of the poetry and music I have shared, I can say that I am proud of myself. I can say that it took a lot of hard work, effort, and time for me to put it all together just right. I had good days and bad days as I worked it all out to make it perfect. I enjoy doing what I do, although sometimes cannot find a word to write, but I guess that is what happens when a person does not take enough time out to smell the roses.

Looking back at 2019, and the poetry I wrote makes me want to continue writing. I know it may not always rhyme, but it is poetry just the same. Life is poetry in itself because we go through so many things all of the time that we do not have any control of. It is sometimes a mystery to me because everyday is different.

Poetry is what you feel, it is the imagery in it that brings it to life in the mind of the reader. If you pay close attention when reading poetry, you just might find a line in it that resonates with you. Poetry is not always about the person that is writing it, it could be about anything that is happening in the moment that it is being written.

Looking back at all of the articles I have written since I started writing just amazes me. I never thought that I could write so much at one time. I have also noticed that I write more when I am listening to my favorite music, or watching my favorite shows, or just spending time with the one I love.

Inspiration strikes me at any time, so I must stay ready to write at all times; that is why I always have something to write on and with. One day I am going to go outside and write when it is cool, sit in the shade and write. I have so much to write, but I just don’t have a lot of time, because time goes by so fast. I just want to say I am thankful that God has given me the ability to write like I do. I believe that I am going to have to set aside some time just to write. I pray that God will continue to bless my hands not to swell so I can write.

Check out my page that has all of my posts, and I am sure there will be something there that will catch your eyes to read. Check out my site page as well. Keep on writing. ©2019
